Rosa Murphy was born on July 7, 1947, to the late William N. Houston and Annie Mae Sutton Houston. She departed this life on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center, Wilmington, North Carolina.

Rosa was educated in the Duplin County Public School Systems. She was married to the late Joe Allen Murphy of Rose Hill, North Carolina. Rosa loved flowers and would always say “Give me my flowers while I am living.” She was a very loving Mother and Grandmother whom was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. In addition to her parents, Rosa was also preceded in death by One Sister: Annie Louise James.
