Edward "PISTOL" Allen

Edward Allen age 85 was well known in  Duplin County and surrounding areas. It would be better stated to say that he was a pillar in the community. Pistol, as he was affectionately known, loved everybody he met. He never met a stranger. He was very caring, thoughtful and always willing to lend a helping hand. Pistol knew just how to cheer anyone up if they were sad with his smile and laughter. Our community was blessed to have a person live among us that possessed the character, the love and joy that Pistol shared among his neighbors and many friends. There are many things that can be said about our beloved family member and dear friend, but not talking loud enough to be heard “is not” one of them.

He was preceded in death by his wife Estella Hargrove Allen.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories:  his son, Jermaine Allen, granddaughter, Autumn Blue Allen, brother, Ralph (Carolyn) Allen, sister in law, Waddie Parks, four brothers in law, Ronnie (Laverne) Hargrove, Bernice (Dorothy) Hargrove, Elmon Gene Hargrove and Alvery Hargrove.  Special nephew, Bruce McCallop, Special nieces, Audrey Allen, Joyce Carr and Doris Rawls, special cousin, Donald Graham and many other relatives and friends.
