Janita Thompson Brown the daughter of the late Aldon E. Thompson & Phyllis H. Thompson, was born July 11, 1953, in Maple Hill, North Carolina. She was silently chosen, by God, to be in eternal peace on Wednesday January 10, 2018, in her home in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Janita received her early education from Webb School in Maple Hill, North Carolina then she proceeded to Burgaw High where she received her diploma. She continued her education attending a culinary arts class at Regional P. in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Janita loved fishing and baking. Her love for cooking lead her to her employment  with the Mess Hall on Courthouse Bay in Jacksonville, North Carolina. She was later employed at Thorne Apple Valley in Holly Ridge, North Carolina until she missed her love of the kitchen and decided to work in the cafeteria with Pender County Schools.

Janita joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church where she spent her childhood attending Sunday School and Church faithfully. Later she joined Chapel of Peace in Holly Ridge, North Carolina and then later in life she joined Victory Deliverance Temple in Maple Hill N.C. as her home church. Other than church and baking, Janita loved to fish daily, which gave her peace and quiet. She is proceeded in death by her siblings: Infant Twin Brothers, two other brothers,  Ray and  John, and four sisters, Janice, Annie Pearl, Evelyn and Katie.

Survivors are : Two Children:  Dorothy Champion (Kenyatta)  and Curtis Brown, Three Grandchildren:  Celeste Sharpless, Kenyatta Champion and Kadarian Champion, Six Siblings:  James L. Thompson (Mildred) Maple Hill, NC, Gene I. Thompson (Virginia) Baltimore, MD, Vivian Lisane, Maple Hill, NC, Lynette T. Thompson (Charles) Jacksonville, NC, Betty Thompson (Ali) Winston Salem, NC, Ricky L. Thompson, Maple Hill, NC A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that were dear to her heart.
