Lewis "BABE" Underwood

A wave of sadness came at the passing of our beloved Lewis on Saturday, September 7, 2019.

Lewis J. Underwood was born to the late Alonzy and Ruby Murphy Underwood on November 27, 1947, in Duplin County, North Carolina. “Babe” as he was affectionately called, was educated in the Duplin County public schools system. He was a member of Peter’s Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he sung on the choir and was faithful unto the end. Babe was married to Elnora Beal who preceded him in death. He was a kindhearted, loving person who would lend a hand to anyone in need. Babe’s kindness to others is a trait that many people aspire to have. His love for God is what made him special~ even in times of suffering he remained faithful. Babe was employed with Nash Johnson for over 30 years. To know him was to love him. He was a great man whom will be greatly missed by all.

 Babe leaves his precious memories to be cherished by: THREE SISTERS: Katie Grayson of New York, Mary Twitty of Wallace, NC Daisy Underwood of New Jersey.  A HOST OF nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
