Monday, August 5, 2019 was a beautiful day for a home going. Loretta arose early that morning and proceeded to have a very blessed day, filled with family and close friends. By late that evening with all her final farewells said, Loretta went to rest.
Cynthia Loretta Pickett was born on May 22, 1957 to the late Exen Harden Pickett and Elizabeth Farrior Pickett. Loretta joined Union Missionary Baptist Church, Wallace N.C. at an early age and received her education in Duplin County Public School System. Loretta worked for Swift in Wallace for over 30 years then as a CNA for Pendu Nursing Home for many years. She loved her co-workers and patients. Loretta was joined in holy matrimony to Richard Williams. Their union was blessed with one son Richard Ronnelle Williams. She also raised her nephew, Jamarcus Newkirk as her son.
Loretta leaves to cherish her memories; her sons Richard Ronnelle Williams in Beulaville, N.C, and Jamarcus Newkirk in Wallace, N.C., five sisters, Shelby J. Brown (Wallace, N.C) Shirley E. Pickett, Wallace N.C, Dora L. Watson, Garner, N.C, Janet A. Cummings, Wallace, N.C, Betty J. Scarborough (Dennis) in Raleigh, N.C. Two brothers, Exion Pickett (Virginia) in Wallace, N.C., Dannie R. Pickett (Catherine) Wallace, N.C, one granddaughter Ronshanay L Williams, Wallace, N.C, one grandson Karter L Williams, Delco, N.C. A special cousin Wallace Pickett, Wallace, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and very close friends. Loretta was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
