ANDREW "JACK" JAMES, JR., 82 of Maple Hill passed April 30, 2016. A memorial service will be Wednesday, May 4, 12 noon at Nixon Lewis FH Chapel, Burgaw, NC.
Jack was born in Maple Hill to the late Andrew and Annie Bell James. Jack attended C.F. Pope School and fought in the Korean War. Upon returning home he became a truck driver for Wooten Farms for more than thirty years. He then was employed by the Naval Hospital in Camp Lejuene, NC and retired after twenty-three years of dedicated service.
He is preceded in death by his son, Luther Gray Lee, his sister, Floretta Simpkins, his brother Carl James and his great-grand son Qua'Drae Judge.
His survivors are: wife, Lillie Sharpless James, Maple Hill, NC, Children: Katie Lee Houston, Kenansville, NC, Patrick Sharpless, Durham, NC, Andrew J. James III, Maple Hill, NC, Theaugres James, Maple Hill, NC, Camesha S. James, Maple Hill, NC, Craig Priest, Jacksonville, NC, Henneth Farrior, Maple Hill, NC. Sister; Golia Jordan of Maple Hill, NC. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, neices, nephews, cousins and friends.
