Annie Ruth Jones, age 102,  was born on September 9, 1913 in the Watha area of Pender County to the late Sam Jones and Mollie C. Alderman also of Pender County.

She was the oldest of six children fathered by Sam Jones. Her five siblings consists of Mary Etta Jones, Johnnie Jones, James Edward Jones and Cora Lee Jones Jackson all who preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory is her sister Mary Ann Bennet of Clinton, NC. Her loving niece Lucy J. Sidberry of Watha, NC and her nephew Carl Jackson, , her step-son, Charles Jacobs, other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
