Bishop Dr. Robert L. Meredith was born March 28, 1938 to the late Janie and Myles Meredith in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
He was baptized in Jesus name at an early age and later followed the calling of God to start his own church. God united him with his help mate Rosa Bannerman August 12, 1971. Together there were eight children to this great union. They were one big happy family. He joined the U.S. Marines in 1973 and was stationed at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
In 1974 he began having church services in their mobile home. The congregation grew so big so fast they had to find a building that would accomodate the souls that hungered for the word of God. The first building on Kerr St., the second on Old Bridge St. and the third and present, Shiloh Apostolic Holiness Church at 130 Bell Fork Rd. all in Jacksonville N.C.
As pastor and founder for over 40 years Bishop Dr. Robert L. Meredith has been accredited with over 50,000 souls baptized in Jesus name throughout the world through his ministry. Under his leadership he was able to develop schools and housing to help educate and better the living conditions for the people of God.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife: Rosa Bannerman Meredith of the home, six children, Robert Jr. of Dallas Texas, Anita of Raleigh NC, Kevin of Jacksonville NC, Brian of Oxon Hill, Md, Verna of Jacksonville, NC and Rosa Johnson of Clinton Md. Three brothers: Miles Meredith, Dorsey Meredith and George Meredith all of Harrisburg, Pa. Three sisters: Carol Glover of Washington, DC, Mary Jane Wright of Waldorf, Md. and Reese Ewell of Harrisburg Pa. A host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his entire church family at Shiloh Apostolic Holiness Church.
