Bradford Leon Williams was born on October 14, 1961, to Mae Bell Stallings and the late James Leon Williams in Newark, New Jersey. He peacefully answered the Master’s call on Sunday, May 8, 2022.
“Brad” as he was affectionately called, was raised by his grandparents, the late Macon Stallings, Sr., and the late Theora Stallings of Beulaville, North Carolina. He was reared in this loving home with his two cousins, Angela and Gladys, as brother and sisters; they were very close and loved each other dearly.
Brad was educated in the Duplin County Public Schools System. As a teen, he worked at the Beulaville Army National Guard through the summer school program which he later joined after completion of high school. He was proud to serve and be a member of the United States Military. After his military service, he worked other little jobs, big and small, too numerous to name because he loved to work. It was instilled in him at an early age by his grandfather Macon and Uncle Ray.
Brad was a kindhearted and loving person, always the perfect gentleman. Brad loved his family and friends. He especially loved and looked forward to his Thanksgiving Day dinner with his cousins, Ogden “Oogie” Batts, Sr., and wife Arlatha Batts.
Until Brad’s health began to fail, he made frequent visits to check on his family and friends. Brad will best be remembered for his beautiful smile and his favorite red chevy truck filled with recyclables.
