Carol Lee Ennis of Currie, NC departed this life on December 24, 2020. “Bob” as he was affectionately called was born on August 8, 1952, to the late James York Ennis and Pearline Walker Ennis in Pender County, NC. Carol Lee was educated in the Pender County Public School System and then Job Corp. After completing Job Corp, he hitchhiked a ride from North Carolina to the Florida Keys where he met Dorothy Freeman at her dad’s game room. He asked her to a movie and being the gentleman he was, opened the door for Dorothy and opened the door to her heart. Carol enjoyed life in the Florida Keys, swimming, shooting pool, picnicking, and cooking out with his family, as well as his work as a mechanic. Carol and Dorothy later moved back to Currie, North Carolina, and were united in Holy Matrimony, and to this union, 2 children were born. Together they raised a total of nine in their loving home.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: Wife: Dorothy Ennis, Two Children: Terrence Ennis and Polly Dunn, Seven Children He Reared As His Own: Denise Freeman, Chell Reid , Tera Reynolds, Mary Ann Freeman, Meka Freeman, Dalee Freeman, and Derrick Freeman, Five Biological Grandchildren: Delasia Williams, Ja'zaria Williams, Symone Dunn, Terrence Anthony Ennis, Timothy Dunn, Jr., Grandchildren: 26 Great - Grandchildren: 15, Five Brothers: Charlie Nixon Ennis (Daphne), James Bryant Ennis (Edna), Calvin Newton (Michelle), Alvin Newton (Mary) and Michael Newton, Three Sisters: Mary J. McDuffie (James), Pearl “Betty Jane ” McDuffie (Edward) and Geneva Gurganious. One Adopted Brother: Philbert Walker (Debbie), A Loving Son -In -Law and Friend: Pete Cooper. A Host of Nieces, Nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
