Growing up in a small family, Corey was the oldest of two children. His nickname was “CP”. He attended Duplin County Public Schools.
Corey loved his family. He was a loyal son, a devoted father, a loving brother, and a beloved husband. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends on Brice Street. Also known as the block. Corey was well known for cooking and baking. He loved Sunday dinners and football with the family. His favorite NFL team was the Dallas Cowboys. His favorite NBA team was the Los Angeles Lakers.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Selina Plummer of Jacksonville, North Carolina; his daughter, Taraza Tyler of Raleigh, North Carolina; his granddaughter, Skylar Tyler of Raleigh, North Carolina; his mother, Silver Pickett of Rose Hill, North Carolina, one sister, Jacqueline Smith of Fayetteville, North Carolina; three nieces, Jackie Plummer, Passion Plummer, and Tamika Smith; a host of aunts, uncles, great-nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Corey also leaves a life-long special friend, Jerry J. Jeffers, to cherish his memories.
