Dale was born to the late Willie Martin, Sr and Everlue Martin on June 1, 1948, in Lexa, Arkansas. She was the twelfth of thirteen children who was born on the Lexa Family Farm. Although she was born on the farm she took no pleasure working on it.
In 1969, she moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she met the Love of Her Life of 51 Years, Edward Lee Barnhill. Dale along with her husband and children, the Barnhill’s, moved to Wallace, North Carolina in 2003 where she served with her husband Rev. Edward Lee Barnhill as the Elect Lady at the First Baptist Church of Teachey, North Carolina. She served faithfully in the choir and taught Sunday School.
The Joy of the Lord was her Strength. Dale was soft in her talk, graceful in her walk, calm in her spirit and she had a special laugh. She was a magnet that you would love to stick to and stick around. Every opportunity that God gave her she would witness to win souls to Christ.
Dale leaves many to honor and cherish her well-lived life: her devoted husband, Edward Lee Barnhill Sr; her sons Edward Lee Barnhill Jr, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Marc Lamont (Charmaine) Barnhill Sr, Atlanta, Georgia, daughter Kia Barnhill (Travis) Martin, Wilmington, North Carolina, son in law, Martin Wright, Sr, nine grandchildren, Krystle (Kyle) Greene, Nicole (Jason) Meierhofer, Martin Wright III, Dana Wright, Jabriah Bass, Celeste Barnhill, Jayden Martin, Marc Barnhill Jr and Camille Barnhill, eight great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
