Dallas Edward Blair Turner was born to the late Adell Turner and the late Lena Boney Turner on October 12, 1951. God received him into His Heavenly home on May 29, 2022, during his care at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, North Carolina.
“Baby Dallas” as he was affectionately called, received his education in the Duplin County Public schools system. He spent his entire work career in Road Construction as a heavy equipment operator throughout the state of North Carolina. In June 2021, Dallas retired from Barnhill Construction, where he worked for approximately 30 years. This past year of his life on earth, he created precious memories, working to leave a legacy for his children and D. Turner Trucking Company.
Two scriptures that Dallas always quoted and lived by were: Psalm 37:11, “But the meek shall inherit the earth” and Acts 20:35, “It’s more blessed to give than to receive.”
He was a Kind, gentle giant to his family, friends and community. He was always willing to give a helping hand when needed. As quoted by one of his former co-workers, “Dallas never had an enemy.” He was a wonderful father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to who will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Dallas was also preceded in death by two brothers: Verdell Turner and Charles Huffin; and one sister, Pattye Hooks.
