Darius Jennings Walker, youngest son of the late Thelma L. Walker and James T. Brewington, was born on July 19th, 1955. He transitioned to the next life on June 9th, 2022, at the North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, New York.
Darius spent his childhood in Willard and attended Willard Elementary School. He and his siblings lived with their grandparents, the late Oscar and Mary H. Murray, until moving to Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from Springfield Gardens High School in Queens, NY and studied at Brooklyn College, majoring in Liberal Arts.
Darius found his niche as a carpenter in Willard and established an excellent reputation for renovating and flipping houses. He used his skills to help others in the community and assisted Williams Chapel Church in renovating their sanctuary, where he often attended services. He was a skilled handyman who could fix anything - from cars to carpentry.
Darius is survived by his daughter, Dana (Darron) Allen and 3 grandchildren; his stepson, Keith (Emily) Allen and 4 grandchildren; and his former spouse, Jan Walker, the mother of his children. His children and grandchildren were a great source of joy to him through the years.
