Duane Lamont McNeill, age 45 of Chinquapin was called into heaven on October 28th  at approximately 10:30 pm.  He was born on May 23rd, 1970 at Nyack Hospital in Nyack, New York.

He was the youngest of three siblings.  In 1988 he graduated from Spring Valley High School and later attended classes at the Rockland Community College in Suffern, New York.  He was a member of St. Paul's AME Zion Church,a member of the J. W. Finley choir, a junior stewart, a junior usher, a cub scout, a boy scout of pack #59, a member of the Sunbeams Circle #5, and a member of Rockland Arcadia Lodge #59, all of which were in Spring Valley, New York.

Duane was united in holy matrimony to J. Darlene Smith in 1996 and from this union they had three handsome sons.  He was rebaptised in 2010 and faithfully attended Mt. Horeb Baptist Church, Chinquapin, North Carolina under the leadership of his special friend and spiritual advisor Pastor Jamison Johnson.

He worked numerous jobs in the state of New York and also in North Carolina.  His most recent job was a welder at Precision Hydraulics in Beulaville, North Carolina.  He always had a pleasant smile and was no stranger to anyone he met; always willing to work and lend a hand where needed.

He was preceded in death by his oldest brother Calvin on September 24, 2006.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories:  His wife of 19 years J. Darlene Smith-McNeill and his three sons Jaden C., Duane L. Jr., and Gattis L. all of the home,  his devoted parents James and Helen McNeill of Chinquapin, NC. and his brother, James A. McNeill of West Haverstraw, New York.
