Evangeline "Lene" Kenan

Evangeline Kenan was born February 17, 1961, to the late Montgomery and Virginia Kenan. She peacefully answered the Master’s call on Friday, March 11, 2022.

“Lene” as family and friends fondly called her, attended the Duplin County Public School System. She graduated from East Duplin High School in 1979.  She continued her education at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

She was employed with Howell’s Support Services for over ten years.

Lene loved shopping and going to thrift stores and she took great pride in her appearance, but spending time, laughing and having fun with her family and friends was at the top of the list.

In addition to her parents, Evangeline was also preceded in death by two daughters; Toquanna Kenan and Shayla R. Kenan; three siblings; Shirley Kenan Houston, Franklin Kenan and Napoleon Kenan.

Evangeline leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter; Terra Kenan, two grandchildren; Kaitlin Kenan and Khalil Kenan, two sisters; Betty Baker and husband John M. Baker, and Marilyn Moore, one brother; Robert Kenan and wife Cynthia Kenan, one sister-in- law; Shirley Kenan and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
