Evangelist Hilda Louise Coston, age 79 of Jacksonville, NC was born on March 23, 1946, in Kinston, North Carolina to the late Pauline Mewborn and the late Reverend Earl Lee Garner. She gained her heavenly reward on April 25, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.
She had nine sisters and five brothers. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Coston Sr., and her son Troy Coston, her granddaughter, Ciani Coston, one brother, Ervin Lee Garner, three sisters, Rosetta Lawson, Vertrina Miller and Earline McConnico.
Hilda attended Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church. During her tenure at Shiloh she served in many capacities. She loved the Lord and ofen said "It is all about serving God and His people" therefore she spearheaded many projects in the church.
Hilda along with her husband Frank were blessed to own and operate Hilda's cooking and catering in Jacksonville. Among other numerous awards and recognition she was presented with the 2001 Small Business Person of the year award by the Jacksonville Chamber Of Commerce in recognition of her fine cooking and contributions to the community.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Coston, her son, Frank Coston Jr, (Karema), of Jacksonville, NC, and granddaughters, Chassity Coston, MA and Shania Coston. Sisters Cleatrice Simmons, Mami Jenkins, Angela Cobb (John), and Mary Kittrell (George), Yvonne Brunton, Clementine Schultz (Kevin). Brothers Norman Hutchins (Karen) and Germaine Graham (Tenisha), Anthony Graham (Briana) and Scotty Graham. Special sister Patricia Coston, nephews Marty White and Terence Coston, special family Nancy Vallejo, and the Flakes family, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, caregivers, and friends.
