Frank Edward Coston, Sr., beloved for his warmth, humor, courage, and faith, gained his heavenly reward on September 17, 2024 at the age of 85. Frank was born on November 24, 1938 in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late Wesley and Mary Coston. Frank resided in Jacksonville, NC, and was a longtime member and head deacon at Shiloh Apostolic Holiness Church. Frank was passionate about all things faith, family, football, and his favorite country westerns and game shows. Frank retired as a proud Gunnery Sergeant after 25 years of service in the United States Marine Corps.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Hilda Coston of Jacksonville, NC, son Frank Coston, Jr. (Karema) and daughter, Teresa Coston, both of Jacksonville, NC, daughter-in-law Etta Coston (Frank’s late son, Troy Coston) of Jacksonville, NC, sisters Patricia Coston of Jacksonville, NC and Sadie Robinson of Portsmouth, VA, and granddaughters Shaniya Coston of Jacksonville, NC and Chassity Coston of Boston, MA. He is also fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and family friends.
