Howard Sylvester Crump III, “Crumpy,” age 61, the youngest son of the late Frances A. Collier and the late Howard S. Crump III, was born on June 12, 1962. He was called to rest at the Brooklyn United Methodist Nursing Home, in Brooklyn, New York on December 9, 2023, at 2:45 am.
His early childhood was spent in Brooklyn, New York where he was born and lived until he graduated middle school. His family relocated to Chesapeake, Virginia, where he completed high school and completed a certification program at a local community college.
Howard was kind and considerate of others and helped provide healthcare for his ailing mother during her illness. When his mother relocated to North Carolina, Howard returned to New York where he worked for a Fortune 500 bank in Manhattan. The last five and a half years of his life were spent at the Brooklyn United Methodist Nursing Home in Brooklyn, New York after suffering a brain aneurysm.
Howard leaves to cherish his memory two aunts, Dolores Murray of Brooklyn, New York, Ruth Murray of Willard. North Carolina, one uncle, Glenfield Knight Sr. of Cape May New Jersey, one nephew, Michael A. Johnson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, one niece, Vashti D. Johnson of Montclair, New Jersey, and a host of cousins and other relatives.
