Jacqueline "Jackie" (Highsmith) Taylor

Jacqueline "Jackie" Taylor, a cherished pillar of her community and a beacon of love and warmth to all who knew her, passed away peacefully at home on September 24, 2025, at the age of 58. Jackie was born on January 23, 1967, in Duplin County to the late Wilbert Wells and the late Dorothy Louise Highsmith Herring of Wallace. 

Jackie's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, boundless generosity, and the deep love she held for her family and friends.

Jackie was a proud graduate of Wallace Rose Hill High School, where she built lifelong friendships and laid the groundwork for her future endeavors.  She dedicated many years of service to the Rose Hill Turkey Plant and the Swift Turkey Plant in Wallace, North Carolina. Jackie's nurturing nature shone through her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Guardian Care in Kenansville, where she offered compassionate care and companionship to those in need.

Family was the cornerstone of Jackie's world. She is survived by her devoted husband, Leon, and their children, Demesha, Ieshia, and Tyrone,  and her grandchildren, all of whom brought immeasurable joy and purpose to her life. Jackie's role as a wife, mother, and grandmother was one she cherished above all.  Her wisdom, generosity, and thoughtfulness were the guiding forces behind the warm and loving home she created.
