James Beckley

James Leonard Beckley was born March14,1958 to Willam Lee Beckley and the late Linda Beckley in Springfield, Ohio.

At the age of 5 his parents moved to Jacksonville, NC where his father was stationed at Camp Lejeune. He attended White Oak high school and graduated from Kaia High School in Hawaii. After graduating, James joined the US Air Force, where he met his lovely bride, Theresa Reece. AKA "T Bird". On December 3,1977 at Fairchild Air Force base, they married. From this union two sons Marquis and Garrett Beckley were born.

James worked over 20 years with the Wade Supply company and also with Eastern Cox Company for 15 years. "Chief Beckley '' worked harder than most and was loved by many. He loved both football and basketball even while in school he played both sports. His favorite teams were the Lakers and Ohio state. We all knew how he felt about Kobe.

James's legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Whatever he couldn't do for his sons he made sure he outdid himself with his grandchildren.

James was the greatest mentor to everyone that crossed his path, and he never met a stranger.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: Wife: Theresa of the home, Two sons: Marquis R. Beckly of Jacksonville, NC and Garrett-Lee Beckley of Raleigh, NC. Father: William Lee Beckley, and his 104-year-old grandmother Elizabeth Cagle of Springfield, Ohio. Nine grandchildren and Three great grandchildren. Two Sisters: Victoria Garrett of Columbus, Ohio, and Joyce Hopkins of Swansboro, NC. 4 Brothers: John (Christy) Garrett of Columbus, Ohio, Mark Garrett also of Columbus, Ohio, Douglas (Carrie) Beckley and Dwayne of Texas. Two Uncles: Richard Garrett of Rhode Island, and Billy Garrett of Springfield, Ohio. Three Aunts: Doris Jackson and Amita Victoria both of Springfield, Ohio and Gloria Truesdale of Toledo, Ohio. Five sisters-in-law, Amelia Davis, Miami, Florida, Cecilia Gilkes of Raleigh, NC, Patricia Mack of Fayetteville, NC and Monica Escobar of Norfolk, VA and Angela Reece of Jacksonville, NC. Two Brothers-in-law: Miquel (Lauri) Reece of La Boca, Florida and Ramon (Rosabell) Reece of Fayetteville, NC. A host of other relatives and friends.
