James Henry Moore, Sr. ("Moe"), 81, of Burgaw, North Carolina, completed his earthly journey on June 2, 2026.
A proud veteran, Moe served four years in the Air Force. He went on to lead a trailblazing career in manufacturing, breaking barriers as the first Black individual hired at Corning.
Deeply devoted to his faith, Moe accepted Christ at an early age. He was a dedicated Bible scholar, a Sunday School Superintendent, and a Deacon at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, as well as the Chaplain for the Pender County Missionary Department. His greatest passion was studying and sharing the Word of the Lord.
Outside of his ministry and career, Mr. James Henry Moore, Sr. was a master carpenter who built far more than structures; he built lasting memories and shaped lives through his craft. Known for his generous spirit, he shared his talent with the community through countless woodworking gifts, including beautifully detailed handcrafted angels. His legacy lives on in the homes and hearts of everyone who cherishes his creations.
"A master carpenter who built lasting memories and shaped lives through his craft."
