James Clinton Pickett , 90, of Deep Bottom in Wallace peacefully submitted to the will of God surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 3, 2015.

 

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Deep Bottom with Rev. Dr. Larry Greene officiating.  Dove ceremony and burial will follow in the Pickett Cemetery.

 

James Clinton Pickett was born on May 6, 1925, in Duplin County, North Carolina to the late Peter and Estella Pickett.

 

He was preceded in death by his late, loving wife Gertha Louise Pickett.

 

He received his education from the Duplin County School System.

 

Left to cherish his joyful memories are his six daughters, Vivian James and Glenda Lee of Maple Hill, NC, Rachel Teachey, Clara Pickett, Jo-Ahnna Brantley of Wallace, NC and Glenda Clark of Durham; two sons, Gregory C. Pickett, Sr. of Wallace, NC and James E. Boney of Jacksonville, NC; two sisters, Evangeline Matthews and Ludene Matthews of Wallace, NC.

Nineteen grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 pm until 7 pm at Union Missionary Baptist Church on Deep Bottom Rd. in Deep Bottom.
