Jessica (Burton) Monk

Jessica Burton Monk was born in Duplin County on May 15, 1987 to Lorraine Moore and the late Charles Scarborough.  She was baptized at an early age and became a member of First Baptist Church in Deep Bottom where the Pastor is Reverend Acie Robinson. She sang in the choir for many years and loved attending services.

Jessica graduated from East Duplin High School in 2005.  She went on to attend James Sprunt Community College where she received a cosmetology license. She later attended Miller Motte College where she received a Medical Assistant’s license. 

Jessica was a go getter and didn’t let medical challenges stop her from chasing her dreams.  She loved her family, singing and having a good time.  She had a heart of gold and did not meet a stranger that she couldn’t win over with her infectious dimpled smile and sweet angelic voice.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
