Jimmy Lee Pickett passed away in Arlington, Texas on Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was born on July 24, 1952 in Burgaw, NC. Jimmy married the love of his life, Floretta Jane “Jean” Fagan on January 10, 1975 in Burgaw, NC. They were married 47 years at the time of her passing in 2022. Jimmy worked for Brown & Root Industrial Construction for many years. He was a member of the Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cleburne. He contributed his time, talents and resources to others throughout Cleburne, but especially to the East Cleburne Community Center. Jimmy was a fun-loving and charismatic man, who left a mark on those blessed to know him. He enjoyed working with his hands and could fix anything. Jimmy was known as a grill-master, especially for his smoked meats. He will forever be remembered fondly and with a smile by those who knew and loved him.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Willie James and Helen Marshburn Pickett; wife, Jean Pickett; and siblings, Johnnie Mae Wright, Billy Pickett, Cornell Lewis Pickett, Michael Pickett, and Lawrence Maddox.
Survivors include his son, Dustin Armstrong & his wife, Cinda; daughters, Jalyssa Pickett, and Jabrielle Pickett Ortiz & her husband, David; grandchildren, Donovan Armstrong, Dominique Armstrong, Donnica Armstrong, and Jamari Davis; sister, Wilma Rich; brother, Andre Pickett; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends, including his God-daughter, Chaka Lee.
