Jimmy Wayne Carr

Jimmy Wayne Carr was born May 12, 1963, in Pender County to Jimmy Lee Carr and the late Georgia Ruth Carr. He peacefully answered the Master’s call on Saturday, January 28, 2023.

He joined St. Mary United Holy Church at an early age, serving on the Usher board until his health would no longer allow, even then Wayne remained a faithful member, helping where he could be of service to others.

Wayne attended and graduated school in Pender County, then proceeded to serve in the United States Army for two years. After obtaining an honorable discharge, Wayne returned home to work in construction, and did so until his health started to fail. “Wayne” as he was affectionately known by family and friends, always gave freely of himself and always welcomed you into his home. He was a thoughtful, caring and kindhearted person who never met a stranger. Wayne loved fishing, cars, people and working with his hands.

We love you “Wayne” and you will be truly missed by your family and friends, but you will live on in our hearts.
