Joseph Plummer 65 of Wallace was born in Duplin county to the late Robert and Juanita Plummer. Joseph attended the Duplin county school system and graduated from Charity High School. Joseph also attended James Sprunt Community College.
Joseph enlisted in the United States army and served faithfully for over 15 years. Joseph truly loved serving his country. He achieved many metals, ribbons and decorations such as: national defense service metal, army service ribbon, overseas service ribbon, good conduct metal, and expert rifle (m-16).
Joseph was a true entrepreneur at heart. He owned a limosine service, rental property and many other ventures.
Joseph was a member of the Masonic Lodge the Nobles and Adoram Baptist Church. All of which he was dedicated until his health failed.
He leaves to cherish his many memories, his loving wife, Marie Matthews Plummer, three children: Nikki Plummer of Georgia, Jollenta Plummer of Garner, NC. and Joseph Plummer. Two step sons: Eddie T. Brown of Wallace and Brian W. Brown of Beaulaville. Six grandchildren and four step grandchildren. Three brothers: Robert L. Plummer (Mary Jane) of Wallace, Thurman L. Plummer of Rocky Point and Macio Plummer of Wallace. Three sisters: Warnell Dixon (Melvin) Chinquapin, Sylvia Ann Pickett (Kent deceased) of Wallace and Elizabeth F. Plummer of Wallace. One aunt, Marie Farrior of Wallace. Special friends: Herb Caviness, Charles Herring, Bobby Blanton and a host of neices, nephews and loving friends.
