Katie Ellis Obituary
Katie Howell Ellis, 78, of Maple Hill, North Carolina, formerly of Wilson, passed away peacefully at her home on June 20, 2026, with her devoted and loving husband by her side.
Katie was the daughter of the late William Kirby Howell and Mary Etta Norton Howell. Katie lost her mother at an early age. She was raised with deep love and care by her stepmother, Margaret Howell. Katie loved to clean and cook.
She successfully owned and operated her own janitorial service, Katie's Cleaning, for over 30 years until her health declined.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, Elvin Leland Ellis Jr.; her children, Mark Lynn Godwin (Tara) and Christy Godwin; three grandchildren, Maddie Fraigo, Hayden Garner, and Mekayla Garner. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Hadnott; her brother, Keith Howell; two special friends, Brian and Mary Brick; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
