Ms. Lois Alfreda Wilder was born in Pender County on June 19, 1935, to the late Columbus Wilder and the late Carrie Wilder. She was called home to rest on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at The Laurels of Pender in Burgaw, North Carolina. Lois joined Newkirk Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was faithful in attending all services. She was a dedicated member of the choir, Daughter of Zion, Missionary Department, as well as served as Mother of the church.
Lois enjoyed singing for the Lord. She started a family group named “The McKoy Family”, which traveled all around singing for the joy of the Lord. Later, Lois helped form the “Community Gospel Choir” in 2019, although her health had begun to decline, she continued to sing for the glory of the Lord right up until May 2021. During her lifetime, she had various jobs, but her favorite job was taking care of others. You were welcomed in her home and she never met a stranger, she treated everyone the same.
Lois loved her family and many family gatherings were shared at her home. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, Lois was also preceded in death by one son: Donald A. Wilder.

Wilder (Teresa) of Wilmington, NC, Bruce Wilder (Vannisa) of Jacksonville, NC. Twelve Grandchildren: Jacqueline, Letina, Kynondia, William, Sterling, Noel, Jessica B., Jessica N., Latishia, Precious, Rena, Jeremiah, and a host of: Great-Grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
