Louise Smith

Annie Louise Smith, daughter of the late Hallie & Francine Johnson, and wife of Harry Lee Smith, died Sat, Jun 22, 2019. A memorial service will be held on Thurs, Jun 27, 2019, 6:00 pm at the Star of Bethlehem Disciple Church, 209 Shaw Rd, Wallace NC. 

Louise, loving wife, mama, ma ma, sister, Aunt Weez, Mother Smith and friend will be sorely missed by her love ones. Annie was born to the late Hallie and Francine Johnson on October 19, 1937; child number three of what would become the Johnson clan of eleven. During her early years she attended church in the Friendship community and gave her life to the Lord. She was a member of the Charity High school Class of 1955. She left home early and joined her brothers AV & JD in Connecticut, where her only son “Seborn” was born at the same hospital where she was employed at the time—Grace Memorial. After a short stint in DC, Louise returned with husband and son back to North Carolina and lived in the Hwy 11 community for 50+ years. Back in North Carolina she worked until retirement from Pender Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed her work and any patient, co-worker or other that she came in contact with felt her passion for caring for others. Up until her last days , Louise was known as a God-fearing, feisty, “tell it like it is”, bold individual. She loved her family, church family and friends. She never had a problem proclaiming her love for Jesus Christ. As the oldest matriarch of the Johnson family, church mother, and pillar of the community, prior to leaving for her heavenly home, Louise was showered with lots of love and attention from the many who called or physically checked-in with her regularly. She loved the attention and fellowship.

Those who proceeded her to Heaven: Parents: Hallie & Francine Johnson; In-laws: Essie & Jacob Smith; 2 sisters: Willie Mae & Pearline; 3 brothers; Author Van, Edward & Cardell; & 1 brother-in-law: Leroy.

Smith (Dianetta), Grandchildren; Lacaecia*, Dewanda*, Tawanna* (Daniel), Sharay*, Jerontric, Diesha  Great –Grandchildren; Daquan (Tatyanna), Kevin (Lindsey), Courtney, Joseph, JT, Naomi ,Dream, Danielle, Arielle, AJ. Great—Great—grandchild– Cameron Sisters; Dorthy (James), Anselma (Tilma), Nancy (Donnie). Brothers; John “JD” (Sallie), Ariah (Marlena).
