Markel Javon Bryant was born on September 1, 1991 in Kenansville, North Carolina. He departed his life on Monday, April 18, 2016 at UNC Chapel Hill Medical Center, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Markel attended Duplin County Public Schools. He loved football and basketball and played throughout his school life. Markel was a member of Oakey Plain Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the youth usher board. Markel was a very humble, respectful, soft-spoken young man. He was a loving son, father, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. Markel loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. We will greatly miss him, but we humbly submit to God’s will. Markel was preceded in death by his Grandfather: Willie B. Bryant.
