Maryline Bryant Obituary

Maryline "Mary" Bryant was born on June 23, 1941, to the late Lillie Williams Brice and Willie Brice of Duplin County.  She passed away peacefully on April 9, 2023, at the Brain Center Health Care Facility in Wallace surrounded by her loved ones. She could be described as a woman who lived life to the fullest, with a heart full of laughter and love. Mary's sense of humor and kind spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, making the world a brighter place, one chuckle at a time.

Born and raised in Duplin County, Mary knew the value of hard work and dedication. After completing her education in the Duplin County Public School System, she moved to New York City. After returning home from New York, she became employed with House of Raeford, where she worked for several years.  Mary's coworkers at the House of Raeford could always count on her for a friendly smile and a much-needed joke during those long shifts.

In her free time, Mary found joy in her beautiful flower garden, which she tended to with the same care and attention that she gave to her family and friends. The vibrant colors and sweet scents of her garden were a testament to the love and laughter that filled her life. Neighbors would often stop by just to catch a glimpse of her beautiful flowers and to share a laugh or two with the ever-welcoming Mary.

Mary was married to the late Wille Bryant of Wallace, NC.  Mary's family was her pride and joy. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished by her two daughters, Janet Brice, (Sam) and Vicki Ward, (Richard) two sons, Kent Smith and Willie Bryant, seven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, a special cousin, Edell Blakney, two special friends, Alberta Sloan and Ronnie Smith, five special children, Yvonne, Lillie Mae, Timothy, Calvin and Donnie Mae, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also preceded her in death, one son Wendell Brice and two grandchildren.

Mary's family asks that you continue her legacy of kindness by sharing a joke or a funny story with someone who needs a smile. After all, laughter is a gift that keeps on giving, just like the love and laughter that Mary Bryant shared with the world throughout her life.

Rest in peace, dear Mary. Your laughter will echo in our hearts forever.
