Michael was born on March 6, 1962 to the late George Allen Jr and late Elouise Darden Allen in Rose Hill, NC. He was educated in the Duplin County Public School System.

He joined First Baptist Charity Church at an early age. He was an usher and sang on the junior choir. Following after his father, he chose contruction as a career choice. He was a roofer and a cement finisher. He worked for Daniel Construction Company in South Port, NC and his latter employer was with Bonitz Construction in Raleigh, NC.

He married Janice Rowe on June 13, 1993 and this union lasted 17 years.

A special sister, Joyce Carr Leak, Rose Hill, NC.  Nieces/Nephews: Latoshia Carr, Durham, NC, Karin "Frenchie" Rawls, Cary, NC, H. Omar Carr, Smithfield, NC, Kendra Rawls Dennison (James), Garner, NC,  Andrea Murray, Dudley, NC,  Darin Rawls, Garner, NC,  April Murray, Rose Hill, NC. Special Friend: Connie Farrior, Magnolia, NC.  Aunts/Uncles: Edward Allen (Estella), Rose Hill, NC Shirley Hornsby, Durham, NC Maggie Melton, Willow Springs, NC Ralph Allen (Carolyn), Mt Olive, NC He is also survived by a host of great nieces, nephews and relatives.
