Naamon Murphy, the son of the late John Murphy and Sarah Jane Murphy was born May 9, 1934, in Burgaw, North Carolina. He departed this life at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Wilmington, North Carolina on April 16, 2016.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted wife, Delores Murphy; one son, Darryl Murphy; three daughters, Sharee Ancum, Zina Zeigler, and Cassandra F. Lofton.
