Nellie Scarborough Obituary

On Wednesday, February 23, Nellie Ree Mitchell Scarborough, 72 of the Deep Bottom Community in Wallace, surrounded by her loved ones, peacefully submitted to the will of God.

Nellie was a sweet and loving lady with a very kind spirit.  Nellie was the wife of the late Charles Scarborough and the mother of three handsome young men.

Nellie worked as a supervisor in DOP Headstart (Duplin, Onslow, Pender) located in Jacksonville, North Carolina.  She worked in the school system for 25 plus years.  During those years, she gained numerous relationships throughout her career in the educational system.  She enjoyed training educators and teaching small children.  She also enjoyed meeting people and was a great communicator.  Nellie attained wonderful people skills and loved all of her family and friends.  She loved to talk and laugh all the time which kept her in great spirits every day.  Nellie possessed the gift of "helps" and assisted several people with care in any way she could.  She has been a confidant for family and friends alike.  Nellie always encouraged people every chance she could to stay focused and think positive.

Nellie made peace with the Lord and praised Him even as she transitioned from earth to glory.  She will be greatly missed!
