Oliver Earl Murphy, affectionately known as "Bummie and Zero, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025 in Wallace, NC..
Oliver had such a fun-loving, quiet, and peaceful spirit. He never met a stranger. He had many friends and always got along well with others. He loved everybody. If he could help anyone, he did it with a willing heart. Oliver knew where all his help cometh from.
Oliver was a graduate of Wallace Rose Hill, Teachey, NC. He also attended truck driving school in Atlanta, Georgia. Oliver retired after 20 years of service from DuPont Cape Fear. He was also a truck driver for Parker Bark, Rose Hill, NC. Being the person he was he always wanted to stay busy and help others. He owned and operated “Uncle Bummie's Affordable Lawn Service in Iron Mine to be of service if needed.
He loved to fish. He had such joy in supporting his beloved nephew, Dank on the race track when he raced “Dirty Bill”.
He leaves to cherish his memories his family, friends, former co-workers and a very special nephew Darien Murphy “Dank”. Our dear brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend will forever be in our hearts.
