Mrs. Pazava DeVane Peterson was born on January 8, 1943 to the late Roscoe and the late Ruby Cowan DeVane. She peacefully gained her wings on Friday, February 11, 2022 at North Chase Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Castle Hayne, NC.
“Zay” as she was affectionately called, grew up in Ivanhoe, North Carolina and received her education in the Sampson County Public School System.
Pazava was a dedicated member of Snow Hill Missionary Baptist Church and attended faithfully until her health begin to decline.
Pazava was united in holy matrimony to Hayes Peterson. They were blessed with many years of marriage until the Lord called him home.
For the majority of her life, she worked on the farms. She loved spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, George DeVane; one sister, Edna Corbett and her son, Reginald Peterson.
“Zay” leaves her precious memories to be cherished by: One Daughter: Veronica DeVane of Ivanhoe, NC, One Son: Barry Peterson of Kelly, NC, Four Grandchildren, Five Great-Grandchildren, Four Great-Great-Grandchildren, Eight Siblings: Margaret Imes, Minnie Harvey and Doris Ann DeVane all of Ivanhoe, NC, Lonnie DeVane (Gwen) of Harrells, NC, Alphonso DeVane of Kelly, NC, David DeVane of Atkinson, NC, Gail DeVane (Ann) of Raleigh, NC, Jannie Mae Highsmith (RC) of Ivanhoe, NC, One Sister-in-law: Dr. Margaret Lawrence (William) of Kelly, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
