Re'Nita A. Tynes

Re’Nita A. Tynes, 37, of Wilmington, NC, formerly of the Big Four community in Currie, NC, peacefully passed away on January 27, 2026, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC, following a long illness.

Re’Nita was a true warrior whose strength and perseverance inspired everyone who knew her. She faced life’s challenges with grace, courage, and determination. The word endure means to carry on despite hardships—and Re’Nita was the living definition of that word.

She is survived by her beloved sister, Ja’Nette; her cousin AJ, who shared a close and special bond with her; and a countless number of loving family members, friends, co-workers, and fellow CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) warriors whose lives she touched along her journey.

A celebration of Re’Nita’s life will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Nixon Lewis Funeral Home Chapel. During this time of bereavement, the family welcomes and deeply appreciates all kind words, donations, thoughts, and prayers
