The world became a little less bright on October 13, 2025, when God, in His infinite power, sent an angel to claim His own — Ricky “Crash” King. Ricky was born on August 30, 1959, in Wallace, North Carolina, to the late Albert King and Nancy King-Waters. From an early age, Ricky’s spirit shone with kindness, laughter, and a love for life that touched everyone he met.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Sylvia King; four beloved children — Schemeker (Chris) Herring, Gregory (Trina) Newkirk-King, Korie Newkirk, and Jer’Ricka (Andrew) Ampy; eleven beautiful grandchildren; two precious great-grandchildren; four loving brothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever hold him close in their heart.
