On March 31, 2015, Rochon Grante McDuffie affectionately known as (Chon), age 39, peacefully departed this life surrounded by family and friends at New Hanover Memorial Hospital in Wilmington NC.

Rochon was born July 20, 1975 in Pender County.  He attended school in Pender County and graduated from Pender High School.  Rochon continued his education and  graduated from Miller Motte College, Wilmington NC in the year  2000 with an associate degree in Business.  After completing his education, he married Michelle Stroman in July of 2000.

Rochon had a passion for many things, but the things he enjoyed most were family, fishing, and helping  others. He especially  loved entertaining and being entertained.

Rochon leaves to cherish his precious memories: wife, Michelle Stroman McDuffie of the home; one son, Deante Haddock of Lumberton, NC; his  father, Robert Rochelle (Martha) of Barstow, California; step-father, Herbert Costin 0f Ivanhoe, NC; three sisters, LaQuetta Costin of Currie NC, Siretta Costin  (W.I.), Hampton Virginia and Alona Rochelle of Barstow California; one brother, Dominique Rochelle of Barstow California;  a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and his best friend Ivey Batts.  Rochon was preceded in death by his mother Edna McDuffie.

Rochon will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
