Sequoya Nicole Bland

Sequoya Nicole Bland affectionately known as Quoya was born June 11, 1991, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. She transitioned on December 12th, 2021 at Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, NC.  Sequoya is a 2009 graduate of Pender High School in Burgaw, North Carolina, and received some college education at Catawba Valley in Hickory North Carolina. Sequoya's work history was in the food industry. One of her favorite things to do was cook.  She never just cooked for the household, she would cook a lot and fix plates to deliver to various people in the community.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, December 18, 2021, at St Mary United Holy Church 8730 Point Caswell road,  Atkinson, North Carolina. The eulogist will be District Elder Larry McLean, pastor.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Nixon Lewis Funeral Home in Burgaw.

Sequoya leaves to cherish her precious memories:  Mother, Francine Corbett, Father, Stacey Bland, Sister, Franchesca Bland, Grandparents, Clinton and Peggy Corbett, and  Lessie Bland. Uncles: James Morris, Kent Corbett, Donyell Corbett, Tracey Bland, Aunts: Shannon Jacobs, Lucretia Bland, and a host of cousins and friends.
