Stephanie Scarbrough Matthews was born to Irene Scarborough and the late Ramsonmell Scarbrough on June 6, 1965 in Duplin County, NC. She departed this life on Wednesday, March 4, 2020. Stephanie attended Duplin County Public Schools and graduated from East Duplin High School in the Class of 1983, of which she was the Class President. Upon graduating Stephanie later further her education at Mount Olive College and graduated on May 7, 2016. Stephanie joined First Baptist Deep Bottom an early age and was a very active member. She served as an usher, on the program and kitchen committee, as well as with the youth ministry and youth choir. Stephanie was married to the late Nathaniel Matthews and to this union they were blessed with one son, Tyrian. She was employed as an Office Manager at Family Work Psychology Center located in Goldsboro, NC. Stephanie was quiet and had a reserved dignity. She was an awesome daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. In addition to her father and husband, Stephanie was also preceded in death by her brother: Lenell Scarborough and Father-in-Law: Nathaniel Matthews, Sr.
Survivors “Stephanie” leaves to cherish her precious memories: One Son: Tyrian Matthews. Two Grandchildren: Nyla Matthews and Olivia Carr Mother: Irene Scarborough. Mother-in-Law: Gloria Jean Matthews. Five Brothers: Marshall Scarbrough (Gladys) Dennis Scarbrough (Betty) Marshall Bizzell (Tonja) Ernest Matthews Andre Matthews Five Sisters: Pamela James Gwen Coston (John) Maria Ennis (Sandy) Marcia Porceli Natalie Matthews (Bobby Ezzell). One God-Daughter: Shana Moore Special Cousin: Lorraine Moore Special Friend: Tony Hall Host of: Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other living relatives and friends whom loved her dearly.
