Tina Marie (Houston) Scarbrough

Tina Marie Houston Scarbrough was born on March 7, 1968 to the late Rosa Murphy and the late Joe Allen Murphy. She peacefully transitioned on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, North Carolina. Tina received her education in the Duplin County public school system. She was employed at House of Raeford-Rose Hill, where she became a dedicated supervisor. Once she became a mother in 1990, Tina returned to her position as a line worker and remained a diligent employee until her health began to decline in 2005. Tina was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend. She loved her family and everyone who came in contact with her, loved Tina. She was outspoken and never met a stranger. She was also kind, had a heart of gold and was a God-fearing woman. Tina took on a huge position when her mother passed, although she was the youngest, she kept the family all together and on track. Our hearts are hurting, but God gave her rest. In addition to her parents, Tina was also preceded in death by her grandmother, Annie Mae Houston and one aunt: Annie L. James.

Tina leaves a legacy of love to be cherished by: One Daughter: Kasheena Houston, One Son: Kenneth Scarbrough, Jr. One Grandson ~ (The Love of Her Life): Jayden Houston. Three Sisters: Blondella Matthews, Gloria Ann Houston and Janis Bright. Three Uncles: William Lee Houston, Leroy Houston and John Earl James.  Five Nieces: Anesha McGlocking, Shenita Whitley, Ebony Williams, Anestia Newkirk and Rene Whitley. Three Nephews: Donald Houston, Alexander Newkirk and Andell Newkirk.  A Host of: Great-nieces, Great-nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
