Virese Newkirk, age 68 of Burgaw, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, November 18, 2015.  Reese was born in New Hanover County to the late Emma Rhode Newkirk and Quincy Newkirk.

He is survived by his wife Janice Boney Newkirk of the home, one son, Virese Newkirk IV, one daughter, Lawanda N. Newkirk both of Whiteville, NC, three stepsons; Authur L. Boney, Gregory G. Boney both of Rocky Point, NC and Ronald T. Williams of Salisbury NC, one step-daughter, Florence W. Brown of Texas, one brother Willie Scott of Burgaw, three sisters, Margaret Bowden, Beulah Scott of Wilmington and  Elouise Fennell of Burgaw; seventeen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, neices, nephews and brothers and sisters of the Masonic and OES Order.
