Willie J. (Toot) Bennerman

Mr. Willie J. Bennerman was born on June 9,1952 to the late Helen Bennerman in Duplin County, North Carolina. He peacefully transitioned on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation, Wallace, North Carolina. “Toot”, as he was fondly called was educated in Duplin County Public Schools. “Toot” was the life of the party. He loved to sing and dance. He was very outgoing and never met a stranger. “Toot” was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to his mother, “Toot” was also preceded in death by his lifelong Partner, Pauline Scarbrough; son, Joshua Moore; sister: Helen McNair; aunts, Pearl Raisin and Mary Milton; uncles: Kirbylee Bennerman, Horace Jr. Bennerman and J.T. Boney.

“Toot” leaves to cherish his legacy and precious memories to: Three Children: Willie Avery Bennerman of Wilmington, North Carolina Emily Moore Anthony Moore, Three Stepchildren: Kenneth L. Scarbrough (Jeanette) of Teachey, NC,  Ricky L. Scarbrough (Keisha) of Magnolia, NC,  Claudia J. Newkirk (Elton) of Chinquapin, NC,  Grandchildren: Four Great-Grandchildren: Four One Aunt: Doris Bennerman of Philadelphia, PA One Uncle: Rooty Raisin of New York One Niece: Yvonne M. Bell of Florida One Nephew: Travis McNair of Indiana and a host of other relatives and friends.
