Yolanda "Shug" Batts

On October 21, 1979, a daughter was born to Robert Miller and Arleen Kangbeni, they named her Yolanda Maria Batts, aka “Shug” (name given to her by her big brother Dondera). She peacefully answered the Master’s call on Monday, January 11, 2021. She attended Pender High School, then went on to get her CNA Certification and in 2018, she went on to receive her degree as an LPN. She loved being able to help anyone that she could if she were able. She was always the one staying positive about any situation that came her way. If given the chance, you could catch “Shug” singing her favorite song called “Good Loving”. She would play it over and over. She enjoyed being around her boys, her granddaughter and family. She will be forever missed, and always will live on in our hearts. She was preceded in death by her son Rashaoun C. James Jr., and brother, Robert Dondera Batts.

 She leaves to cherish her precious memories: Parents: Robert W. Gray (Stephanie), Melvin Batts and Michael Batts, Five Aunts: Belinda Watkins, Glenda Farrior, Irene James (Terry), Sarah Ann Farrior and Michelle Batts.
